Landscape Architecture has existed for now almost 250 years. During this period it scarcely ever intended a history of its own doing. Is it however possible to trace lines of tradition, family trees and other relations bewteen its protagonists?

Michael Jakob teaches history and theory of landscape at USI's Accademia di Mendrisio and at Politecnico di Milano. He is a visiting professor at the GSD (Harvard) and a curator of international exhibitions. His current research deals with "ways of seeing" marked by architecture.
